Precinct Renewal
As Queen Victoria Market underwent major renovations, I was engaged to design new hoarding and directional signage that would both celebrate the market’s rich heritage and enhance the visitor experience during the works. The creative strategy was to shift focus away from construction and bring the site to life, blending a heritage feel with a modern, vibrant twist.
I developed a full suite of designs featuring glitter walls, vintage-inspired arrows, historic images, and artisan-style motifs, anchored by storytelling. The project also included an interactive moving hoarding installation, created in collaboration with a local artist to honour the market’s diverse community. The result was a playful yet respectful design solution that kept the spirit of Queen Victoria Market alive throughout its transformation.
